In-Clinic Intern

Overview

Wolf Creek Equine (WCE) is seeking to add an in-clinic intern.  Housing is provided for this position.

Responsibilities

The In-clinic Intern is responsible for all daily treatments and care of hospitalized patients.  The intern is responsible for admissions and discharges of hospitalized patients and out-patients and assisting in out-patient work-ups in the clinic.  The intern will be supervised in the care of ICU patients along with labor and delivery experience during foaling season.  The intern will have anesthesia responsibilities for both routine and emergency procedures.  It is our goal to help shape our intern into a well-rounded profressional, so venturing out into field services is encourage as the case-load will allow.

Key Qualifications

Must have or be:

  • US Citizen or working Visa
  • Graduated veterinarian with doctoral degree
  • Maryland license

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Strong interest in anesthesia
  • Strong interest in reproduction and neonatal care
  • Strong interest in ICU and nursing care
  • Passionate about equine veterinary medicine
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills

Ambulatory Intern

Overview

Wolf Creek Equine (WCE) is seeking to add an ambulatory intern. Housing is available for this position in the form of a room to rent in a near-by home.

Responsibilities

The Ambulatory Intern is responsible for all daily duties associated with seeing patients in a field setting.  Our field services are very busy with every aspect of equine health care and the Intern is expected to assist our staff field practitioners.  The intern will be expected to attend to evening emergencies with the on-call practitioner.  It is our goal to help shape our intern into a well-rounded profressional, so venturing out into in-clinic services is encourage as the case-load will allow.  The intern will then be supervised in the care of ICU patients along with labor and delivery experience during foaling season. The intern will learn imaging modalities along with having anesthesia responsibilities for both routine and emergency procedures.
